Responsibilities:
- Review medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Ensure full compliance with federal regulations and HIPAA standards
- Communicate with physicians for documentation clarity when needed
- Support denial management and audit processes
- Stay current on payer rules, compliance updates, and industry guidelines
- Partner with the revenue cycle team to improve reimbursement success and reduce coding errors
Skills:
- Strong medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology knowledge
- Detail-driven mindset with solid analytical skills
- Clear communication and ability to work independently
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, Meditech preferred)
- Hands-on experience in HCC coding
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field
- CPC, CCS, or equivalent certification required
Experience Requirements:
Prior experience in medical coding required
